Myrrh Essential Oil has a beautiful, woody, clean scent. It's reminiscent of a walk in the woods. Myrrh tends to be grounding; bringing with it a sense of tranquility and peace. Myrrh is known for its outstanding ability to fight germs and heal dry, aging skin. It is one of the oldest known essential oils; used for more than 4000 years. Myrrh, Frankincense, and gold were gifts brought to baby Jesus by the Magi. Myrrh was also presented at Christ's death. There is much wisdom in the use of Myrrh; it is special.
The Myrrh bush produces a resin that oozes out of the plant as a thick, pale-yellow liquid. When the liquid cools, it hardens and turns reddish-brown, forming tear-like shapes. To produce the essential oil, the resin is steam-distilled.
